Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele recently addressed a comment from a social media user who questioned her decision to wear a ‘wedding ring’ despite being divorced.
The comment came from a netizen, @OriretanHonour, who suggested that it was unwise for Funke Akindele to wear a ‘wedding ring,’ claiming that it could potentially deter future suitors.
In his post, @OriretanHonour wrote, “Funke, it’s unwise to still wear a ring on your marriage finger knowing you’re divorced. Even worse, it might chase away your future husband. Little things count now that you’re still famous, hot, and rich. Mind your public acts. Remove the ring now. You need a man in your life ASAP. Act fast. Be wise.”
Rather than responding in anger, Funke Akindele calmly addressed the comment on a supposed wedding ring, saying that her priority is not her relationship status but her financial independence. She responded with a straightforward message: “I need money! That’s the koko,” highlighting that her focus is on securing her financial future.
Her response quickly garnered support from her fans, many of whom were puzzled by the unsolicited advice. Some fans, like Odebode

While Funke Akindele has been married twice, once to Mr. Oloyede in 2012 and later to JJC Skillz, her fans have been quick to defend her from any unwarranted criticism on wearing a wedding ring.
