Edo State Governorship hopeful in the 2024 poll, Peter Okoeguale, has congratulated Christians at home and abroad on the occasion of Easter celebration.
He enjoined all Edo citizens, as well as NIgerians at large, to use the occasion of Easter to reflect on and remember the importance and significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He equally appealed to the people to embrace peace and live in harmony, especially after the Presidential and Gubernatorial Elections which recently held across the nation.
Okoeguale insists that politics and elections shouldn’t be allowed to tear us apart as a nation, stressing that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ affords us as a people, the opportunity to retrace our steps to unity and true nation building.
“I congratulate Christians, the people of Edo and Nigerians in general, on the occasion of Easter. I am so happy for our people and I pray it will be an occasion to unite us as a people.
It is important to use the occasion of Easter to reflect on and remember the importance and significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“I am also using this occasion to appeal to the people to embrace peace and live in harmony, especially after the Presidential and Gubernatorial Elections which recently held across the nation.”
“As a people, we should renew our hope and look ahead for a better tomorrow. NIgerians should live with one another peacefully and eschew religious bitterness.”
The Esan-born philanthropist turned politician stated that all hope is not lost, as it is still possible to work towards a much more glorious and peaceful Edo State, even as he solicits the support of citizens for next year’s gubernatorial election.
Okoeguale made these remarks when a group of Edo citizens paid him a courtesy call during Easter, at his base.
The group, led by the National Coordinator of Edo Mandate for Viable Democracy, Mr Elliot Imoloamen, pledged its continued loyalty to Mr Peter Okoeguale, and total support to his governorship ambition come 2024.
