OGUN, Nigeria – The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM, Mega Regional Headquarters, Lagos Region 19, Akute, Ogun State, has held its annual edition of the Elders’ Thanksgiving Service.

The 8th edition of the event was celebrated on Sunday, February 25, at the church auditorium of the Mega Regional Headquarters, situated at 5/7 Water Pipeline Road, Asore, Akute, Ogun State.

In attendance were all elders and senior citizens from age 60 upward – from various Regional Headquarters, Zones and Branches under the Mega Region. They were all clad in beautiful designs of white attire, which was the colour of the day. This added class and finesse to the occasion, which drew family, friends and well wishers from far and wide to rejoice with the elders for God’s abundant blessings and grace upon their lives thus far.

Mega Regional Overseer, Pastor Ayo Smith (being one of the elders, himself), was on ground as chief host on the grand occasion. The Pastorate at the Mega Region equally played a pivotal role on the special day. The Mega Regional Choir treated members and the entire congregation to wonderful, sonorous gospel renditions, Christian hymns, praises and worship songs.

The highlight of the day was a special appearance by George Sax from the International Headquarters; who entertained the elders and entire congregation to soulful instrumental renditions, which got the elders and entire church singing along to the tunes, dancing and giving thanks unto the Lord.

Elder David Ayorinde, Mega Regional Head of the Elders’ Forum, was visibly excited that the event held smoothly, stressing that if Jesus tarries in His coming, next year’s event would be bigger and better. He prayed that God should continue to keep all the elders in good health, strength and wealth for even greater contribution to God’s sanctuary.

Pastor Ayo Smith prayed for the elders that they shall continue to be relevant and remain significant even as they age with grace. He enjoined the younger members of the congregation to tap into the anointing, wealth of resources, knowledge and wisdom of the elders by going close to them, asking them questions and understudying them. He equally asked the elders to pray for the younger members of the congregation, prophesy into their lives and ensure that they teach them all they have learned through their illustrious journey through life by sharing their wealth of experience with them.
