‘Kylian Mbappe’s Move To Madrid Not Influenced By Money’

Jerome Rothen, a sports journalist with RMC, has said Kylian Mbappe’s proposed move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu is not being induced by a promise of higher pay by Fiorentino Perez but the desire of the player to join a successful club The Trumpet gathered.

Real Madrid, last year, signified their interest in the player by tendering a record bid that was rejected by Les Parisien who insisted Mbappe was not for sale.

With Mbappe’s contract due to end this summer, Paris Saint-German are battling to see the prolific forward pen a new two years deal with the club.

Though the player is weighing his options, Le Parisien railroaded a report confirming that Mbappe has agreed to stay in Paris which was rebutted by his mother, Fayza Lamary.

Corroborating Lamary’s claim, Rothen avowed that Mbappe is in pursuit of a good sporting project stressing that the PSG forward will be leaving money behind should he make a switch to Spanish giants.

“Mbappe has remained open to the possibility of an extension, so PSG could offer him something substantial, but money isn’t his priority, it’s the sporting project,” Rothen told Marca.

“He wants these answers and he is waiting for them. He doesn’t have them.

“His plan, if nothing changes at PSG, is to leave. I hope that the PSG leaders are aware of that.

“What is certain, and the fans should know this, is that PSG means a lot to him and he does have strong connections to the club,” he added.

However, France President Immanuel Macron, recently advised that Kylian Mbappe will continue to be a great player if he remains in Ligue 1.

Jocular Macron, a fan of Olympique Marseille, said that if the PSG forward was making a move to join his favourite club he would have ensured the move was made possible.

“Unfortunately, you can’t speak about Kylian Mbappe going to OM. If he was willing to come I would have fought to make that happen… but he said ‘not so fast’ (laughing). So it’s better to fight for him to stay in Ligue 1 because he continues to be a great player,” Macron said, according to a Diario AS report last month.

The French President is constantly in touch with Paris Saint-German prolific striker to convince him to jettison the move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for a stay in France with PSG.
