OGUN, Nigeria – Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos; Dapo Abiodun of Ogun and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta were physically present at the 35th Anniversary/International Convention ceremony of the Mountain of Fire And Miracles Ministries (MFM) world-wide.
The three-day event with the theme: ‘Fire From On High’, which took place between Thursday, August 16 and Saturday, August 18, 2024, at the MFM Prayer City, situated at KM 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, had in attendance wife of the Lagos State governor, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, notable Nigerians from home and abroad, top government functionaries, church leaders, traditional rulers, top hierarchy in the ministry of the church at home and across the world, friends of the ministry and well wishers, among others.
There was also wide representation of members from different regions of the church globally – including those from Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.
The highlight of the event was the recognition and honour done to 492 1st Class Graduates from different universities across the world. The award, in its sixth edition, had the highest number of graduating students – who’re members of the church – till date. According to an elated Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire And Miracles Ministries worldwide, the concept by the church, had created a healthy rivalry among students and seriously galvanised the youths into action – by serving as a source of motivation for them to do better academically.
This, he said, was responsible for the progressive increase in the number of First Class Graduates being churned out by the church annually. He enjoined the awardees not to rest on their oars; rather, he asked them to continue to make those sacrifices which ensured that they were recognised in the first place, while stressing that they should seek new grounds to conquer.
The three governors were called upon to come up stage to do the honours when it was time to present the wards to the beneficiaries. They were presented with a plaque, a certificate and an unspecified cash reward, as announced by the G.O.
Others who were honoured by Dr. Olukoya were those who had demonstrated outstanding service and commitment to the ministry over the years. He lauded their commitment to service, dedication to the ministry and their loyalty for several years. He admonished them to continue to do well in ensuring that the church played its pivotal role in this generation and beyond.
The spiritually-charged event started with the arrival of guests last Thursday. On Friday the 16th, which was day one of the event proper, there was the opening ceremony and General Overseer’s ministration. This was soon followed by a ministration and teachings by Mummy G.O, Pastor (Dr.) Mrs. Sade Olukoya, wife of the General Overseer. There were different choir ministrations and ministrations from the Mega Regional choirs. Equally, there were several lectures by Assistant General Overseers (AGOs) and select senior pastors in the ministry.
On Saturday, which was the second day of the event, there were separate ministrations by the children, teenagers and youths of the church. There were further choir ministrations from other Mega Regional Headquarters. This led to the award ceremony for regions across the globe, which had stood out; those which had become exceptional and exemplary in the discharge of their duties faithfully and dutifully. This culminated in the anointing service, which had been eagerly anticipated by the members. To wrap up day two of the events, there was a vigil.
Sunday Thanksgiving and Communion Service brought the event to a close, as members, participants, visitors and attendees alike, gave glory to God for the success of the 35th anniversary celebration and Int’l Convention of the church. They sang, praised and worshipped the Lord for all He had done; that which He was doing and all that He was still going to do in their life and ministry.
Dr. Olukoya announced that the next Convention ceremony of the church would be in the year 2026.
About MFM
Mountain and Miracles Ministries was founded in July 1989 at the home of Dr. D. K. Olukoya with 25 people at the first service. The Church later moved to No. 60, Old Yaba Road, Alagomeji, and finally to the present Headquarters site on 24th April 1994.
Mountain and Miracles Ministries is a full gospel ministry devoted to the Revival of Apostolic Signs, Holy Ghost fireworks and the unlimited demonstration of the power of God to deliver to the uttermost.
Absolute holiness within and without as the greatest spiritual insecticide, and a pre-requisite for heaven is taught openly. MFM is a do-it-yourself Gospel ministry where your hands are trained to wage war and your fingers to do battle (Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: – Psalms 144:1 (KJV)).
The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries’ Headquarters is the largest single Christian congregation in Africa with attendance of over 200,000 in single meetings.
The Mountain Top University was founded by the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), a full gospel ministry which was established by Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya.
Today, membership of the church has grown to millions worldwide. MFM runs missionary activities in over 40 nations of the world cutting across Africa, Europe, America and Asia.
The core vision of MFM is total liberty of men and women from all forms of oppressions and bondages through the teaching of biblical principles and aggressive prayer strategies for a victorious living. It is against this backdrop that the vision for the establishment of Mountain Top University was derived from the founding Ministry.
The promulgation of the Education Decree No. 9 of 1993, which repealed the Decree No. 19 of 1984 and stipulated new guidelines on the establishment of private universities, was therefore a welcome development. Mountain Top University is one of the private Universities in Nigeria, founded in 2015.
