BENJAMIN OMOIKE
EDO, Nigeria – The ambition of Peter Okoeguale to run for office of governor in Edo State come 2024, as flagbearer of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), took a massive boost recently as he received overwhelming support of the party stalwarts – both at state and national levels.
Okoeguale, along with teeming supporters at home and abroad, visited the state party secretariat, where he met with the state chairman of the party and other party loyalists. He addressed the large crowd at the secretariat, telling them that he was, indeed, the man for the job and that he was ready to change the narrative of the state and establish the party as a strong force in the state. He asked for their support in his bid to be the party’s candidate in the forthcoming election.
The Esan-born philanthropist equally visited the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja, where he met with the National Working Committee (NWC), of the party and had fruitful discussions regarding his ambition to represent the party in the 2024 Guber election in Edo State.
Presidential candidate in the last general election in Nigeria and former governor of Kano State, Hon. Rabiu Kwankwaso, a great leader of the party, showed support for Okoeguale’s ambition and assured him of the support of the party hierarchy.
An elated Okoeguale was very grateful for the kind of support and reception given him by the state and national arms of the party, promising to do his best not only to get the party ticket but also doing well to win the forthcoming election – so as not only to establish the party in the state – but more importantly, to move Edo State forward to greater heights.
