Chukwueze Saving Milan Career With Late Upturn In Form

Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze could be securing his future with AC Milan thanks to the impressive upturn in form towards the end of the 2023/24 season.

As reported by Tuttosport (via Pianeta Milan), Chukwueze has endured two very bad thirds of the season at Milan with injury, poor form and absence at the Africa Cup of Nations holding him back.

He has the added pressure of being the player that Milan paid the most for in the summer transfer window, but he has been outshone by the likes of Tijjani Reijnders, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic.

He recently scored against Hellas Verona and he was particularly impressive against Fiorentina on Matchday 30. He caused Cristiano Biraghi plenty of issues and showed Stefano Pioli that he can be a credible alternative to Pulisic on the right wing when the American needs a rest or is absent.

Milan paid €19.5m for Chukwueze in the summer, but there is a further €8.5m in various bonuses related to appearances and team objectives. Those bonuses could be fulfilled if he ends the season strongly.

It is clear from the body language of those at the club that Chukwueze is very popular and he would only be sold if it was really felt that he had nothing to offer.
