Another Trophy Miss For Harry Kane! 44-Goal Bayern Munich Striker Told Why England Team-Mate Jude Bellingham Will Beat Him In Ballon d’Or Battle

Another major honour is slipping out of reach for Harry Kane, with the Bayern Munich striker told he is now behind England colleague Jude Bellingham.

Three Lions captain has continued to shine

…Destined to end the season empty-handed

…International colleague is starring in Spain

WHAT HAPPENED?

Three Lions captain Kane has enjoyed a productive debut campaign in Germany on a personal level, with 44 goals recorded across all competitions. The former Tottenham frontman is, however, destined to end another season empty-handed – as his wait for elusive silverware goes on.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bellingham has contributed to that frustration on the trophy front, with Real Madrid dashing Bayern’s Champions League dreams for 2024 at the semi-final stage. Los Blancos’ midfielder is another Englishman thriving outside of his homeland, with 22 goals registered this season.

WHAT O’HARA SAID

Kane’s former Spurs team-mate, Jamie O’Hara, believes that Bellingham now leads his international colleague when it comes to a Golden Ball race. O’Hara has told Grosvenor Sport: “Bellingham’s going to be in with a shout for the Ballon d’Or. To do what he’s done, he’s an incredible player. I love watching him play football. He’s in the Champions League final and if he produces a big moment in it, then he’s definitely deserving of the award. I think Harry Kane still deserves to be in with a shout but if you don’t win trophies, you don’t win the awards, it’s as simple as that. It looks like it’s going to be someone from Real Madrid and I’d give it to Bellingham.”

WHAT NEXT?

Vinicius Junior is another Madrid star in the hunt for Ballon d’Or recognition, while Kylian Mbappe – who is expected to head for Santiago Bernabeu after confirming that he will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent – will also come into the conversation after plundering 44 goals himself at club level in 2023-24.
