Adeboye Sad Over Nigerian Boxer’s Death In Ghana, Commiserates With Late Boxer’s Family

ABUJA, Nigeria – Senior special assistant on grassroots sports development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has said that he is heavily shocked and devastated over the shocking death, of Nigerian boxer, Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju who collapsed and died during a boxing bout in Ghana.

Adeboye, who is still very saddened by the tragic accident, said it’s really a bad situation for the family and loved ones of the boxer, that Nigerians should show love and support to the family and loved ones he left behind.

“This is not a pleasant news at this time, when we are in a celebration mood, it’s really a very traumatic and disheartening news, I call on every Nigerian to show love and support for the family he left behind, “he said.

“I commiserate with the family. It’s never a good thing to lose a loved one. The young man lost his life fighting to take care of his family, and for the green flag of this great nation, we will try our best to support the family and pray God gives the family the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” he concluded.

Reports indicated that he was ahead on points before the tragic incident occurred. A viral video capturing the moment of his collapse has since shocked the boxing community, with fans and officials mourning his untimely demise.
