NIGERIA: Bisola Ajimobi Kola-Daisi, the eldest daughter of the late former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has passed away at the age of 42.
She reportedly died in the early hours of Thursday, March 27, in the United Kingdom.
Until her demise, Bisola served as the Special Adviser to the Minister of Budget and Planning, Atiku Bagudu.
A former aide to the late governor, Bolaji Tunji, confirmed the news to journalists, saying, “Yes, it has been confirmed.”
Bisola, who was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi, was known for her contributions to governance and public service.
Her death comes as another painful blow to the Ajimobi family, following the passing of her father in 2020.
Meanwhile, Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) and former Senate Majority Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, have expressed their deep sorrow over the sudden passing of Bisola Kola-Daisi.
Senator Alli in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan, described Bisola’s demise as a tragic and painful loss, not just for her family but for Oyo State and the nation at large.
He noted that until her passing, Bisola served as a Special Adviser to the Minister of Budget and Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, and was widely recognized for her brilliance and contributions to public service.
Alli said “Bisola was a woman of grace, intellect, and dedication who upheld the values of excellence and service. Her sudden departure is deeply heartbreaking. I pray that the Almighty grants her eternal rest and comforts her loved ones in this difficult time”.
He extended his condolences to her husband, Idris Kolapo Kola-Daisi, her mother, Chief (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, and the entire Kola-Daisi and Ajimobi families, praying for the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Also, Senator Teslim Folarin, a former lawmaker and cousin to the late Governor Ajimobi, expressed his devastation over Bisola’s untimely death.
“I am.deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs Bisola Kola-Daisi (nee Ajimobi). Her untimely death has left an unfillable void in our hearts and I can only imagine the pain of a parent burying their child”, he said.
Folarin, described Bisola as a dear family member and said her death was a personal loss to him and extended his sympathies to the Ajimobi family, particularly the former First Lady, Florence Ajimobi.
